Last weekend, I got to attend Codecon in Curitiba, in partnership with IXC Soft, together with some teammates.

It was the first edition I attended, and it was a great experience. The structure and organization were outstanding.

💡 Even better was hearing important talks from some speakers, often going against what the industry makes you (someone new to the field) believe, and lining up exactly with my own way of thinking:

• Write the simplest code possible, that's easy to maintain and test.
• Use the simplest technologies to solve your initial problem, preferably something you already know well.
• Use AI as your assistant. It won't take anyone's job, unless you don't know how to use it. It'll get things wrong a lot, you need at least some judgment to use it well.
• Only think about scaling once you actually start having real problems, not the ones that only exist in your head.
• Observability is very important for making project decisions instead of shooting in the dark.
• A well-structured monolith will solve most cases. Only in very specific exceptions will you need microservices or other extra machinery.
• Beginners should aim for depth, not quantity.
