On 12/08, I traveled to Palhoça, SC (Brazil), to attend the 17th PHP Conference Brazil, which took place in person on Saturday, 12/09. 🐘

The event was held at Impact Hub, located in the Vila Pedra Branca neighborhood. I'd highlight the excellent venue structure, as well as its prime location, close to several lodging, restaurant, and entertainment options. Unfortunately, the weekend was marked by heavy rain, which kept me from visiting the beach.

This was my second time at the event, and this time I had the chance to be a speaker. Unfortunately, my talk had limited attendance, possibly due to the complexity of the topic ("Building your first C extension for PHP") or the competition from three simultaneous rooms. Either way, I was prepared for any scenario.

This time, my wife came along as a spectator, following the event and supporting me from the start. Even though she's not directly in the field, she really enjoyed the event and the topics presented, gaining several insights of her own.

I keep actively supporting the PHP community, recognizing that these events strengthen bonds within the community, enable knowledge sharing, and make in-person networking possible, something the virtual environment often can't offer. Also, traveling and getting to know new places is something I take very seriously. ✈️

To wrap up, I'd like to congratulate the event organizers for promoting the language and for their commitment to keeping it more vibrant than ever!

I'd just like to mention that I missed the chance to grab some event memorabilia, like a mug, a t-shirt, or another keepsake.

I'm definitely planning to attend again in 2024, especially since it's been announced that the event will be held at the same venue.
